Just this past November, the Spice Girls, announced that they were reuniting for their first tour since 2012. Four out of the five girls will be included in their world tour, but recent news of Mel B’s health might delay their plans.
News broke last week that the singer was rushed to the hospital after losing sight in one of her eyes. She then talked about this on Instagram yesterday saying, “Thank you so much for all the lovely support and messages I’ve had about my eye. Just so you know the real truth. I had an awful experience last week when I went blind in my right eye, and my left eye went blurry.”
Despite what the press said about 48-year-old she confirms, “Even though the stupid press said I’m ok and this has happened to me many times before, just to be clear I was NOT ok, and this has NEVER EVER happened to me before,so who every is selling this story “a close, reliable source” is full of BS and needs to get their silly facts right big time,I was actually in a lot of pain and very very scared but thanks to the incredible eye specialists in A&E at London’s Moorfields Hospital and after at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital I was diagnosed by and eye specialist with severe IRITIS in my right eye and UVEITIS in my left eye.”
Severe iritis and uveitis are both infections in the eye that are caused by herpes, which shows hardly any symptoms until a serious outbreak. Despite the common slander, more than half of the population under 50 has contracted the HSV-1 virus.
The singer is doing much better now and reassures fans by saying, “I’m taking multiple prescription heavy duty eye drops and other medication the Dr gave me that I have to take every day to keep the inflammation under control,Also I’m so well looked after by Team Spice special thanks to our paramedics too!!”
There is one concern though, “ My only problem now is I have to find a very cool Scary eye patch. Does anyone – apart from Madonna – know where I can get one ??” So if anyone makes eye patches, hit up Mel B.
Her fans commented things under the post like, “Absolute trooper. You are one woman who goes through thick and thin and still comes through it all standing. You deserve a medal, Mel. Continue to knock em dead. See you on tour!”
The Sun reported that she had returned to rehearsals against doctor’s orders on Friday after regaining her sight.
“They just had the friends and family show, and it went well; her youngest daughter came out. She’s very involved with the tour, and she’s excited about it. All is going well,” the source close to Brown said.
The Spice World tour begins this Friday in Dublin at Croke Park.
