Newborns in Thailand are being sent home with face shields
Newborns in Bangkok, Thailand have been fitted for face shields to help protect them from the coronavirus.
On their Facebook page, Praram 9 Hospital shared that the first shield that was given the face shield was fitted because the mother had to take the newborn home by taxi. The face shield is to protect the child en route to the home.
In a rough translation, the hospital shared, “With concern, the hospital initially designed face shield for the [child] to use only on the journey, considering the safety of infants and safe from covid-19 risk with strict advice “not to wear all the time.””
The shields give new parents “peace of mind,” said BBC Thailand.
