Yesterday The Dream’s wife, Lalonne Martinez spoke about the birth of their daughter, who was born eight weeks premature of the first time. Their daughter was born May 6th, but the couple had not announced the difficult delivery of their child until yesterday.
She posted on Instagram yesterday pictures of the newborn with a caption to thank family and friends for their love and support. She wrote, “Thank you family and friends for your continued prayers, support and gestures of love for our family.”
This The Dream’s 9th child but his fourth with Martinez. Her delivery was life-threatening, leading to an emergency c-section. Martinez revealed, “This birth was by far the hardest. May 6th, eight weeks before our scheduled delivery. I had a placental abruption and underwent an emergency c-section.” She continued, “(Not my first, I knew this time was critical. My husband wasn’t able to come in, I was put to sleep and my sports bra and jewelry was on). This was life or death for Élysées and I.”
Fortunately both mother and daughter survived the procedure and The Dream joined them as soon as he could, “I woke up in recovery, husband by my side. He said our baby girl was doing well and that was all I needed to hear! I lost a lot of blood but everything going on with me was white noise. My only concern was Élysées. Following surgery I received 5 blood transfusions and spent the rest of the week battling high blood pressure, pain, body aches, chills and fever.”
The caption was posted on Instagram with pictures of mom and dad with baby Élysées in her incubator, showing her little feet and hands. There also is a picture of their daughter’s footprints.
Lalonne finished the caption with, ”Seeing the divine circumstances, that lined up and brought us to the hospital…it was apparent our baby girl was ready & supposed to make her grand entrance on this day & that she did! Happy Birthday Élysées! She is a fighter and she is thriving.
Born MAY 6th … 3 lbs. Baby girl you are STRONG, you are FIERCE, and you are so LOVED #NashKids #TheNashEstate.”
She then showed her appreciation for her husbands hard work and support by saying, “@thekingdream Thank you for being my rock and being able to keep calm (on the outside) through the chaos…and functioning off -7 days of proper sleep. I don’t know how you do it…I love you immensely and appreciate you!!”
The two have been married since 2014 and got married in the San Francisco City Hall. They have two sons named Heir and Lord and another daughter named Maverick. Three of his children are from ex-wife and singer Nivea and he also has a daughter with singer Christina Milian who too is his ex-wife.
Congrats to the couple and we wish the mother and child a speedy recovery!

[VIDEO] Ciara Reveals Her Relationship Prayer She Said Before Dating Russell Wilson
This Monday, Angie Martinez posted an interview she did with Ciara as her guest star to promote her 7th studio album Beauty Marks. During the interview, she discussed her love story on how she got her perfect husband, Russell Wilson.
After her break-up with ex-fiance Future, she said that she asked God for the exact man she wanted to be with, “I thought I was going to be single for four years, I had that in my mind,” said the 1-2 Step singer. “And I don’t know why that number was four years, but I was really ready to take my time and be patient and let love really fall in place the right way. I desired something new; I desired something different, I desired to be loved [to] the highest capacity and to be loved the way that I deserved.”
Her prayer included specifics on what this man would be like and what she would like to gain from the relationship.“I prayed for a God-fearing man. I prayed for discernment. I prayed for wisdom, to really learn from the wisdom that I’m gaining from the experience that I’m going through,” she told Martinez.
See video below.
A love for kids was certainly on her list, especially since she already had her son, Future. “I prayed for a man that loved kids, because, obviously me having my son, if you’re gonna love me you’ve gotta love him. I prayed for a man that was worldly as well. Because I love to explore. So, someone that was gonna edify my world, that was important to me. I was ready to level up!”
The two have truly had an inspiring love story. In the interview, she also spoke on the night that she met her husband at NBC’s I Can Do That wrap party. “I remember looking at my husband the first night we met — it’s like a movie — when we talk about our story back to each other, we both have the same feelings. … It was a calm feeling all over my body,” the singer explains. “I also remember looking at him, and I thought he was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. And I couldn’t remember half of what he was saying … but when you know, you know. We say that and we also talk about being equally yoked. It’s just light. When it’s light, it’s right. It’s easy. Even in the toughest times.”
See the video here:
Talk of their relationship first began in April 2015 when the two attended the White House State Dinner together which was in honor of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his wife, Akie Abe.
What’s funny is that Wilson claimed Ciara before the two even met. In an interview with The Rock Church in July 2015, he admitted, “I told somebody that’s the girl I want to be with before I even met her. Before I met her, I was like, ‘I’m probably going to end up with Ciara.’” This is the same interview where Wilson revealed that two took a vow of celibacy until marriage.
The two married July 6, 2016, at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England and had their first child April 29, 2017.
