Men Who Are Good Leaders Choose Good Women! By Michael Baisden
I believe that leadership begins with the choice of the right partner. Women can’t knock a man for being a poor leader when she didn’t do her research to make sure he had the credentials to lead in the first place. I mean, why would you trust a man to lead who hasn’t demonstrated any leadership?
If a woman is smart, she’ll ask these revealing questions on the first date, “What are your goals? What are you actively doing to achieve those goals?” And “Where do you see yourself in the next three to five years?” If the man replies, “I don’t know.” Run for the hills! Above all else, leadership is having a vision for yourself and for your family. If you don’t know where you’re going, how do you expect to get there? And why would you expect anyone to follow you?
A man should at least have an idea about where he wants to be and be working towards that goal until a better opportunity presents itself. We live in a very competitive world; an intelligent woman would be foolish to follow a man who doesn’t have a plan. Likewise, we as men must choose women who respect our role as leaders. It’s difficult to listen to a man complaining that his wife doesn’t respect him and then when I ask him why he chose to marry her, his reply is, “I loved her!” And I say to him, “Loving a woman is not enough of a reason to marry her; marriage is a partnership and you have to complement each other.” To which he replies, “I never thought about it like that before.”
That’s precisely the problem. Men think with their dicks and their eyes. Just because a woman looks good and the sex is great doesn’t mean she’s going to be a good partner.
As men, we can’t choose women based solely on their physical attributes and then bash women for not being supportive. Chances are she was choosing you for the same shallow reasons, so I guess you both got exactly what you deserved, frustration, lack of appreciation and ultimately a divorce.
