Marlon Wayans is very passionate about his children. He even had a show on NBC which ran for two seasons about his life as a single father named “Marlon.” So this is the wrong father to mess with!
As you may or may not know, June is National Pride month. So this Sunday the proud father posted on his Instagram a picture of his 19-year-old daughter, Amai, with a pair of rainbow Vans on with the caption, “Happy pride 🌈 to my pride and joy. I wouldn’t change one effing thing about you. Love you to the moon around the sun through the galaxies and back again.”
Amai is one of his two children form a previous marriage to Angelica Zachary. The two divorced in 2013, but that didn’t stop Wayan from being an outstanding father.
Several of his followers showed much love for the father and daughter and his support in his comments saying things like:
“You’re a great father! If more fathers were like you, the world would be a better place!”
Another one was, “You always show us that your a good father and a great and hard working entertainer. Much love to you and your fam.”
And even a compliment to her shoes, “where did she get those shoes?!?! I need those!!!”
Unfortunately, though there were some negative comments on Marlon’s support for his daughter, one that received 400 likes said, “She’s not old enough to understand what that’s really all about. You have the power to change lives Bro, don’t teach her that”
Instead of deleting the comment, Marlon responded, “She’s 19. She’s who she is until or until she don’t [sic] choose different. Love her for her not what I want her to be.
He did not stop there either! Another comment that expressed negativity was one that wrote, “You think if you support her you are good ??? Being a parent is not about saying yes to everything no you need to say yes on the good things only now just one question if you really support her would you give up being a grandfather because of this stupid decision that she made because as last as remember two girls can’t make a baby 👀”
The father reassures, ““there’s technology and i got the means, so thank u shallow fu**er. Go hate your own kids.”
Many of his followers came to him and his daughter’s defense responding to the comments saying, “Gay straight or confuses it doesn’t matter your kids are your kids. If you can’t support them for trying to be themselves, there’s something wrong with you as a parent. Your job as a parent is to guide your kids to make healthy decisions and give advice. You can give tough love, but you don’t have to be ignorant. Just my thought, man. Keep showing your love like you are bro. Kids are a beautiful thing.”
