Being in the public eye makes it very hard to avoid backlash and judgement even on the little things. Sometimes celebrities ignore it but this time Ayesha Curry refused.
The whole situation began when Ayesha posted a picture of her family from the night of the NBA’s Western Conference Finals game where her husband Steph Curry, who plays for the Golden State Warriors, played his brother Seth Curry, who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers. Regardless of this, the family was in good spirits and happy to be together for this special night.

Infinitely proud of these guys. Gods grace and mercy continues to cover our family and we are so grateful. Not about wins and losses, it’s all about family. Moments like this simply put it all into perspective. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33

In this picture of their family, Ayesha is seen holding her 10 month old son Canon. This where the shaming began.

Feeling so blessed on this beautiful Sunday! I get to be these 3 munchkins mama. Watching them grow everyday is such a joy. Love my sweet babies. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mommies out there! Blessed beyond all measure. 6,3 and 10 months !!! Where does the time go?!
One follower asked, “Are you pregnant again?????” and Mrs. Curry responded, “absolutely not LOL. My 30lb son is just breaking my back in every Photo.”
Other comments included, “If that kid is 30lbs he’s got some serious health issues going on.”
Another was, “30 lbs?!?!? He’s bigger than my 19 month old nephew,”
Another comment where Ayesha seemed to get fed up was, “Maybe portion-control his food a bit.” This time Ayesha wasn’t as friendly and responded, “Excuse you? No. Just no.”
Being a famous chef with a show, Ayesha’s Homemade, her children certainly eat good on the regular but she makes sure that they all are eating well. She once told Parents magazine, “In our house, you’re definitely not getting dessert if you don’t eat your dinner! But we do throw the rules out the window once in a while. We love to have movie night with the kids where we eat popcorn, ice cream and then breakfast for dinner.”
Despite the negative comments there were plenty of others lifting her up and showing support for baby Canon’s weight saying things like, “Ugh i do not normally comment on post but enough is enough. Respect to u Mrs. Curry n thank you for sharing ur pic of ur beautiful family. And to the ones that commented about her son weight shame on u if you had children of your own u would know that sometimes babies are born big.” She continues,“ I am speaking from experience my children was 8lbs 13oz, 10lbs, n 10lbs 3/4oz they made their own growth chart arch because they was big at birth. So at 10 months my children was wearing 24 months to 2t clothing”
Another mom said , “My baby girl is only 6 months and currently 19lbs, probably be closer to 30lbs at 10 months too. Shes like 95th percentile in growth and doc says her size is 100% healthy. Don’t you worry none. If he’s healthy and happy that is all that matters. Ain’t nothing wrong with that handsome baby boy. Don’t let the rude fat shaming comments take up space, there ain’t nothing to shame about 😊 Mommas need to support Mommas ✌”
