As we know, before Beyonce’s solo career she was in a group called Destiny’s Child. The group mainly consisted of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. However, the closest and best singers of the group were Kelly Rowland and Beyonce.
The two of them started their music careers when they were young in Houston, Texas and have accomplished so much since. Eventually, Beyonce began her solo career but even before then the two were constantly compared. Kelly Rowland usually seems very supportive of her friends career, but she has now finally spoken up on how she feels about their relationship.
Previously in her song Dirty Laundry, Rowland addressed her past insecurities about her career being compared to Beyonce’s. The song included lyrics like
“While my sister was on stage, killing it like a motherfucker
I was enraged, feeling it like a motherfucker
Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with
Went our separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it
Bittersweet, she was up, I was down.”
This song came out back in 2013, but she has now spoken again about the situation during an interview she had while recording a new EP titled The Kelly Rowland Edition. At the time, she, along with other musicians, was given a task to create a complete EP in one week which revealed some feelings from the past.
“The elephant in the room for me has always been second best,” she said. “That’s actually the first time I’ve said that out loud.”
She expressed that the group she was with gave her good vibes, which led her to open up to them in such a way.
“I think what kind of took me back was how comfortable I felt in the room to be so transparent,” she said. “It’s got to feel right, and everybody feels like that in here.”
In the same conversation, she admitted that she and Beyonce became distant for some time. Her relationship at the time probably did not help with this. She also spoke of this in the song of Dirty Laundry saying,
“He pulled me out, he said, “Don’t nobody love you but me
Not your mama, not your daddy and especially not Bey”
He turned me against my sister
I missed you”
She revealed that after their time apart, they reconnected and their relationship actually grew stronger. She mentioned that it is unfortunate that people rather see them against each other rather than give each other love and support.
The singer said, “I think the people wanted those stories for years, and that’s just so sad on them because it’s not like that,” she said. “It’s so crazy, and I just think it’s so sad that we live in a world where people don’t want to see women get along and encourage and empower each other, and that’s what we do for each other.”
Rolland’s EP, The Kelly Rowland Edition, is now available.

Sasha Obama Goes To Prom! They Grow Up So Fast!
The former first daughter, Sasha Obama, made everyone’s heart warm after her prom photos reach the internet this weekend. It seemed like she was just a child, but she certainly is growing up!

Friday, May 24th, a photo of her and her date were posted on her older cousin’s Twitter with the caption “When your lil cousin takes Sasha Obama to prom.” This post has since been deleted but has been reposted by other users.
Her mother and our former First Lady, Michelle Obama, 55, and her older sister, Malia, 20, were there to see the teenager off. They were seen in the pictures, and you could see security in the back of one of them so maybe our former President, Barack Obama, was in attendance. A,l,so, there was her date’s family and a younger brother who is in the picture with the prom goers and Malia.
The 17-year-old was wearing a classic, black spaghetti strap dress with a knee-high split. She had her hair styled long and straight with simple yet dramatic makeup. Her date was looking dapper in a black tuxedo with a black bowtie.
Twitter loved the pictures and said things like:
“My God she’s a stunner” tweeted advocate April Reign.
“Sasha Obama is becoming THAT girl. Our next supreme” said one follower and another follower responded, “Rightfully so, she’s gorg!”
One even addressed her date saying, “Could you imagine being 16/17 and having the heart to ask Sasha Obama to prom? This guy deserves a medal!!!”
Sasha is a senior at Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. and has not announced her future plans yet. There is a rumor that she’s possibly attending the University of Michigan in the fall.
Her father, Barack, has a history of jokingly threatening comments at his daughter’s dates but has no interest in taking over their dating lives.
He says in an interview in 2016 with Raleigh, North Carolina’s WDCG radio station, “The truth is, I’m pretty relaxed about it for two reasons. One is Michelle — she’s such a great example of how she carries herself, her self-esteem, not depending on boys to validate how you look or not letting yourself be judged by anything other than your character and intelligence. Hopefully, I’ve been a good example in terms of how I show respect to my wife.”
Sasha has it easy since her older sister had to go to prom first. Michele discussed Malia going to prom in her memoir writing, ”Barack and I shook the young man’s hand, snapped a few pictures, and gave our daughter a hug before sending them on their way,” she wrote. “We took what was perhaps unfair comfort in the knowledge that Malia’s security detail would basically ride the boy’s bumper all the way to the restaurant where they were going for dinner before the dance and would remain on quiet duty throughout the night.”
