As everyone mourns the death of the director of John Singleton, his friends and family are dealing with grief and remembering his impact he had while alive.
One of these people is singer and actor, Tyrese. He’s posted multiple times about his friend who passed and one of them was a descriptive story of how he ended up acting in the hit film ‘Baby Boy’ which was written and directed by Singleton.
Originally, Singleton wanted Tupac to play the role for Jody but personally came to Tyrese’s house to pitch him the role. Regardless of the home visit, Singleton still required for Tyrese to audition for the role so he could earn it. Here is where he first saw and met Taraji P. Henson.
“I had never seen this woman, heard of her or seen her, but when I tell you, she came in and took over the room. She was fearless, she was slapping me, pushing me, she was EVERYTHING,” wrote Tyrese in the 9-minute IG TV story. You can see the video here:
Just before his death, Tyrese made Singleton the godfather of his new daughter Soraya. The singer said, “You were just at the house……. Holding our new angel in your arms……. I asked you that day would you be Soraya’s God Father….. Your response was classic John “Of course N*** who else gonna be The Godfather”..? Love you bro… my heart hurts”…
Our condolences and prayers are with the Singleton family during this tragic time.

Photos of 17-Year-Old Girl Taking Her Grandfather to Prom Go Viral – They’re Too Cute!
17-year-old Kaylah Bell has the internet in their feelings this weekend after posting pictures her and her prom date, who happened to be her grandfather. The teen, who is from California, was initially planning to go to prom with her two best friends. Unfortunately, their plans fell through, leaving Bell without a date.
“I have a lot of guy friends, and they all wanted to go with girls they had crushes on or were dating. And the potential suitors I did have wanted to continue on with ‘the popular prom festivities’ which I wasn’t okay with. I had planned to go with my two best friends, but they dressed to match each other, and I didn’t have anyone to match me.” she told BuzzFeed News.
That is when her grandfather, 67-year-old Alvin Hackett, came to the rescue. He’s a church pastor with a “well-rounded wardrobe” so it wasn’t difficult for him to dress for the occasion.
“My grandpa is very stylish,” his granddaughter told the outlet, adding that Steve Harvey is Hackett’s fashion inspiration. “Every Sunday when we go to church, him and my grandma dress alike and dress together for church and banquets,” Bell told People magazine.
Bell’s look was inspired by Mary, Queen of Scots.
On the night of the prom, Kaylah’s grandfather surprised her and showed up in a fresh suit that matched perfectly with his granddaughter’s gown. She was wearing a strapless purple, and pink floral gown with a purple cape and grandpa showed up in a navy suit with pink accents. He also brought her a corsage to match her dress.

“We had agreed on him showing up with me to take pictures and I knew he would dress nice but the whole suit and corsage and everything was a complete shock,” Kaylah explained to Buzzfeed. “He said because I am his granddaughter and I am precious to him and he saw I didn’t have a date, he thought it was only right for him to step up and show me what a prom date should be like.”
After Bell posted the pictures on twitter saying “My papa knew I didn’t have a date to my prom so he matched me !!!!!!!!” and the pictures went viral.”Everyone was in awe,” says Bell. People online called grandpa Hackett “dapper” and said comments like “I really hope I age this well.”
The pictures have already received over 12,000 retweets and 106,000 likes on Twitter.
Bell who is set to attend Azusa Pacific University in the fall told Yahoo Lifestyle, “I felt blessed. A lot of people don’t get to have opportunities like this. For my grandpa to be happy and eager to do it was amazing to me. I felt extremely loved.”

[VIDEO] It’s Official! Idris Elba And Sabrina Dhowre Tie The Knot With A Secret Wedding In Morocco
Idris Elba and model Sabrina Dhowre have officially been wed in Morocco. The two got married April 26, 2019, after getting engaged in February 2018. Elba proposed before a screening of his directorial debut for the movie “Yardie.”
According to British Vogue, before the wedding, the couple held a beautiful rehearsal dinner at Amanjena on Thursday. Then the lovely couple exchanged vows at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh on Friday. The small luxury hotel is in the palm grove of Marrakesh and has extensive gardens.
Dhowre wore two custom Vera Wang gowns for the wedding day, and Elba wore one classic black suit by Ozwald Boateng. “For the ceremony, Dhowre wore a classic off-the-shoulder white A-line gown. Later, she changed into a V-neck style embroidered dress with pearls and gemstones and finished with couture lace. Guests wore black tie.” says Vogue.
Vogue also includes, “The celebrations have been spread out over three days. Friends and family attended a ‘colours of the Souk’ themed dinner the night before the wedding at the Amanjena. On April 27, they will attend an all-white party at the Mandarin Oriental, which will emulate the atmosphere of a festival.”
The official pictures of the ceremony will be on the cover of the July Issue of Vogue.
Here is a glimpse of the wedding:
The couple met and fell in love on the set of Elba’s movie The Mountain Between Us.
“Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special,” the actor told PEOPLE’s Editor-in-Chief Jess Cagle in an episode of The Jess Cagle Interview. The movie, which was filmed in Canada, was a story about a man and a woman who get stranded after a plane crash. Here is where Elba, 46, and Dhowre, 29, connected.
Their first public appearance as a couple was at the premiere of Molly’s Game during the Toronto International Film Festival in December 2017. “It definitely got noticed because I try to keep my personal life different,” said the notoriously private Elba.
Then the two got engaged the following year in February 2018. Elba to PEOPLE magazine that the proposal “was the most nerve-wracking thing for me ever, but in terms of wanting to make someone feel super special and feel my love, that was pretty romantic for me.”
“It was a little spontaneous if I’m honest,” he said. “I was at a cast and crew screening, and among people I loved. We had all worked so hard for this project, so I was like I’m doing it right now, here, today.”
The video was then posted online and went viral. “Yeah, I didn’t expect it to quite make British news and American news and Japanese news, for that matter,” Elba said, laughing. “It was quite a public affair. But it really wasn’t meant to be on the news.”
Elba reveals that she was the one since the two “have good chemistry.”
“She makes me laugh, and we share common goals. She makes me happy,” he said. “She makes me celebrate my successes, and when I’m not too sure about stuff, she makes me think.”
