Men are not off the hook. I met a man while sitting at the bar, he was already sitting down when I arrived. I felt like we connected. After a few hours of sitting and drinking, I finally get up to leave, he gets up to walk me to the door, and we weren't even looking eye to eye. I'm 5'1, I was almost looking at the top of his head.

Well It's so many different opinions on thsi subject. I personally will comment from a professional stand point, I am a hairstylist and make-up artist and i do it all natural hair to weaves. I don't think one is better thsn the other especially if you don't take care of it. I have seen women with natural hair, look a plum mess, dry, just there and everywhere, not kept. Then I have seen weaves poorly and improperly done. I personally like to where my hair both ways, if you see my pictures, I can be just as commfortable in very short hair with make up or very little. Because I am an artist I love color and I love to challenge the world that a dark skin sista like myself can't where this or that on their face and look good. I don't stay in the mirror all day it takes very little time for me to get ready and i teach all different women and races how to do the same. My mother always told me if you don't care what you look like no one else will either. Everyone should feel good about them, and should not be out to make anyone happy but yourself, people talked and condemed Jesus, so who are we. I have come the conclusion that people have preferences and have their own opinions about everything in life so some will like it some will not. But i will not be the judge of people that is not my job and men are going to continue to be drawn to what you call the "fakeness" it's all about image, if it looks good natural or fake let it be. I like men who are kept up, and decent shape, and are nice lookin but that is a preference but those things will always take a back seat to personality, spririt and just old fashion being genuine. I believe that no matter the packaging it's what's inside that counts for real.

This topic just proves that women are less shallow than men. Mosst women just love unconditionally. All that we ask is that you care about how you look, your hygeine, and how you carry yourselves. You dont have to perm your hair and sport white men's hairdos,bleach your skin, wear print or bulge enhancers, nor do you have to wear uncomfortable shoes to be considered sexy.

I feel both sexes have been brainwashed by the media.Men love a certain image, and even compete with each other on having the tightest or baddest woman. They will even disrespect another brother for having a plus size woman or one with nappy hair. That is why women feel the need to enhance themselves with superficial things.

A guy lost his mind and tried to argue me down that Janet Jackson's hair was not a weave. She's pretty either way, so why does she wear it? Why did the daughter on the Parker's go buy her booty? That's what brothers love the most, BIG BOOTY. Why are more black women getting fake boobs? They are also brainwashed.

For myself, it irritates me to see a brother with a perm and his hair glued down to his head like Jermaine Jackson WTH!!! I love our brothers in their natural state with a tight cut, or well maintained dreads. Now I do have to be woman enough to state that the only thing I may have a problem with is a black man with a Bozo hairdo. Please just cut it all off. A black man with Dr. Phil's hairdo just isn't appealing unless you're a grandfather.

Great topic MB. Its a shame some women look at this topic as "woman bashing". It is a form of deception that is widely accepted. Many women are addicted to make-up/weaves heck even wearing a bra! I just wanna say contrary to some comments, you have many shows that are beneficial towards women. Most just focus on the negative aspects of these topics.

Lets talk about skin health and makeup! Women you go out and buy makeup loaded with chemicals and slather it over your skin constantly. SMH You are spending your money.. at least take time to research what these chemicals are , and the possible effects. THINK don't just follow the trend. Beautiful skin, hair and nails come from the INSIDE out not the other way around.. Invest in some vitamins beneficial to your hair and skin.. like vitamin E, aloe vera the list goes on.. Most importantly a healthy diet and drinking lots of water as well as using all natural products does wonders for your health as well as your looks. Makes sense right?

I LOVE being a natural woman from my head to my toes. All of my profile pics are au naturale (I do have on Burt's Bees lip gloss in the pic of me in the black dress, but other than that, what you see is what you get!

Who would have thought decades ago that plastic surgery would be where it is today. We have become a world about looks more than values when it comes to any kind of meaningful relationship for what ever reason. The question should be are we more eccepted because we dress a little better than another or because of makeup you look better than someone who doesn't wear it. Reality is we really should be more eccepting of each other and be more acceptting of those who don't dress as well, and go more natural. We've got to see each other differently, everyone is not in the movies and non are barbie dolls. Let's just keep it real.

Theirs nothing wrong with being yourself...A NATURAL WOMAN...women do this to make themselves look better ...just like men do things to enhance their looks...Some women goes over board with it ......but thats them....and what they do to their body....I am the natural look..and really haven't thought nothing of all the rest...THE LOOK....it takes to much work ...can't do it....

Ladies the truth is that men tend to have a better self image than women. A man will walk around the beach with his belly and not care what you think. Women on the other hand have a lot of issues with body image. Our society tends to judge women on their looks more than they judge men. Men tend to be judged on their worth. Is it fair, no. We were just saying that women should consider that we might like them just as they are. I think it is a personal choice on both accounts.

I prefer a natural woman any day of the week versus an artificial woman. It's the same as asking which do you prefer the truth or a lie, and of course I believe in truth in advertising.
