I was talking to a friend who has just enrolled in the local community college here in Greenville N.C , and we observed that the campus was literally overrun with students , we grew up here and have never seen so many students on the campus. Not to mention that but , new administrative and class buildings are being built ! I thought i would investigate and see if this was an isolated incident...It is not, all over eastern N.C (and later i found out this is happening nationally ) ! Community Colleges are experiencing a mass influx of new students, especially the rural areas , even non-traditional students are increasing in numbers , this is the by-product of this President, and this administrations desire to make higher education and jobs preparedness available to as many Americans who seek to improve their employ-ability and skills levels , the Pell Grant has been formulated to ensure that this is an obtainable goal for Americans , i say that this is a great thing that is happening and it will only yield the fruits of a stronger , better educated America in the coming generations !

Comment by ebonycapamerica on September 9, 2012 at 12:38pm Tiffany, your point is well taken , but we must not become as negative and feed in the government can do nothing right tactic the right is selling..this situation as in other areas of life have the possibility of influences that are not sincere ! Would you stop going to church because there are cases of ministers (Eddie Long is a great example) ..who are national names but are charlatans ?
Most likely not because you recognized the reality that the greater good is not diminished by the existence of those who are not genuine !

Comment by ebonytruthteller on May 4, 2012 at 9:32am I heard on one of the conservative talk radio shows last night the host challenge a democrat caller saying that the democrat could not cite an example where FEDERAL PROGRAMS have actually changed anyone in the minority groups outlook for the future ....well this would have been an easy question for me , and i could have cited many examples ...this matter of the new groundswell of enrollments in Community Colleges is a great example....my favorite is an example that not only addresses the matter of empowering a future work force , but it also has addressed the matter of unwed mothers ..the administrations commitment to increase higher education access to those who would not be able to afford to attend has solved two widespread issues within minority communities all over the country and it has been effective and already all indications are that it will produce a new generation of more qualified employees and taken many single mothers off the public dole (so to speak .......I know of several young mothers who since this administration has brought back the Pell Grant and increased it's scope..are now well on their way to a degree , and without the assistance that these FEDERAL LOAN PACKAGES provided they would not be in the position that they are now in to become more productive citizens and mothers ...and it is my belief that this is repeated all over the nation ..and we are seeing this is not only empowering single mothers but young /older men who may have fallen on the wrong side of the law as well are now on their way to becoming productive citizens ...this is just one example where the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS HELPED !
Comment by ebonycapamerica on April 16, 2012 at 10:55am That's so true and to think that many actually believe that the tactic of deception and intention persuasion will work to discredit the sincere and unifying work this President is accomplishing..EVEN THOSE WHO GREEDILY ARE BEING HELPED BY THEM ( how silly and juvenile can they be right ? ) ....nevertheless the rest of us who SEE QUALITY and respect what is REAL WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR WHAT ACTUALLY HELPS THE COUNTRY AND WHAT IS GOING TO MAKE LIFE BETTER FOR US ALL EVEN THE DIMWITS AMOUNG US !
