I am celebrating my one week anniversary of no meat. I thought it was going to be hard but I am finding it quite easy. I can not believe I am not even craving FRIED CHICKEN, which was my weakness. I am still trying to find new and exciting things to eat so if any of you veterans can tell me any books or sites I can view to help me out...I would appreciate it

I've gently tried to persuade my friends and loved ones the benefits of saying "No" to meat. After seeing this video, I hope everyone will try to make a conscientious effort to rid themselves of their addiction to "Yard Bird" Beef being the worse of all meats because of its poor processing in the digestive tract.

I work at a Wal-Mart Super Center in the Deli- Department. It also has a hot-bar where the mail thing we sell is chicken. chicken wings hot, mild, and whatever your fancy is. ALL fried. I just mention this because we actually get verbally abused and insulted if we do not supply them(the customer) with chicken. I don't think that they would stop ordering chicken wings if I had a repeating video of the cruelty showing constantly. People only see the prepared product and not the whole picture.

I REMEMBER A TIME WHEN CHICKENS WERE BOUGHT ALIVE AND IT WAS UP TO THE PURCHASER TO PREPARE THEM FOR CONSUMPTION. MY MOTHER USED TO BUY LIVE CHICKENS AND KEPT THEM IN THE BACK YARD UNTIL IT WAS TIME TO KILL THEM BY WRINGING THEIR NECKS. i CAN STILL REMEMBER WATCHING THE CHICKEN RUN AROUND THE YARD WITHOUT IT'S HEAD. WE THOUGHT IT WAS VERY FUNNY. AS CRUEL AS THAT SOUNDS, IT WAS NOT AS CRUEL AS WHAT THEY GO THROUGH NOW. IT MAKES ME WONDER, THOUGH, WHY THEY MAKE SUCH A BIG DEAL ON COCK FIGHTING WHEN THE GOVERNMENT ALLOWS MORE CRUELTY THAN THAT. BY THE WAY, I NEVER COULD EAT THAT CHICKEN AFTER SEEING IT RUN AROUND THE YARD. PERHAPS IS MORE OF US HAD TO KILL OUR OWN MEAT IT WOULD CHANGE SOME MINDS. IT CHANGED MINE.

Yes it's sad. This is the legal way to do it. Some chickens are just used for laying eggs and when reach a certain age (which is not that old) they are put in a big container and poisened with gas and then their bodies are sent to rendering plants.

These slaughterhouses are inhumane to begin with. The "nicest" way they slaughter animals is by shooting a bolt into their brains to make them "stupid" and this is only with cows and horses. With the smaller animals, like the chickens and turkeys, they hang them upside down and slit their throats to drain the blood while they are still alive. The next step is to either throw the animal into either a tub of scalding hot water (most of them are still alive when they go in the water) to burn the feathers off or while still hung upside down, they are run through "beaters" which beat the feathers off of them. Then the heads and feet are cut off and the offal is removed. Offal is the term we use to refer to the insides. The good parts of the animal are sent off to be sold for people food and the inedible parts are sent to rendering plants to be "recycled" into pet food.

I haven't eaten meat in 20 years, but I love the work you guys are doing to awaken the people. I am shocked to see how sleep my people are even in 2009. Thanks M.B. for trying to open the minds of the children of the slaves

Our government the U.S.D.A. is responsible for letting this happen. If you can get photos of this than they can too. They are responsible for our food, so why aren't they monitoring how it is processed. They also need to up the an-tee on the quality of our foods. And we wonder how our foods get contaminated. Our government is out of control. They don't take responsibility for anything. The U.S.D.A. is quality control for our food processing. The U.S. is disintegrating from within. We are money driven. If I'm a big company and I throw money towards the politicians which is tied together with different departments of government i.e. Department of Agriculture, it's a vicious cycle. The small farmers are going out of business. They can't afford to farm. That was where our quality was. They took pride in there product. Big companies don't care. It's all about the all mighty dollar. The government works like this. I won't look until something tragic happens. So do what you want as long as nobody gets hurt. When somebody gets hurt I'll come in and save the day by making a bunch of new laws. Which will take years to implement.
