Comment by Diane Martin on November 26, 2012 at 2:08pm

Hello, my name is Diane Martin and I am the author of Never What it Seems, Autumn Leaves, Fallen Angel, Never What it Seems Part 2 - A Mother's Love, and Kiss my A@@! - This is not your typical self-help book."

My first book is now available on Kindle & Nook. Never What it Seems is the story of Dee Wellington and AJ Madison, two women who were born in Chicago, and much like the city; their lives are anything, but ordinary. Dee grew up in a dysfunctional household that by today’s standards would be considered completely ‘normal’. Trying to cope with life’s complexities, Dee contributes all of life’s changes to God’s will. Throughout the changes in her life, she resists the urge to disrupt the balance of things unless she really has to.
On the other hand, there is AJ Madison who is a rambunctious, intelligent, and outgoing character who lives by her own standards and believes that you get what you give. Both, Dee and AJ grew-up trying to maneuver in systems created to breakdown the human spirit. Readers will find a familiarity in their struggles, their desires, and their will to overcome.

Reader's Reviews:
“I’m reading ‘Never What it Seems.’ It’s a page turner. I found myself wanting to find out what happened next as I ended each chapter. I’m on chapter 48 (pretty good for a day and a half)…where the girls' former loves have now re-entered their lives. The story line is impeccable, well-written, and I am suggesting this book to all of my friends and family who loves to read. I’m going to read this book again.” –JoMonique Whiteside

“’Never What it Seems’ is truly never what it seems. I found myself drawn into the story. I couldn’t put it down! The chain of events continued to grab me. The author is very consistent about several things, but what warms you the most is that the two main characters, Dee & AJ, are amazingly strong. I love and admire their courage. The author displays a relationship of real unconditional friendship between these ladies - such a relationship rarely seen or experienced today; the one that ultimately facilitates their success. This is an awesome start for a first novel. I so look forward to the next!” – LaKessa Murphy

"I've just gotten back to Chicago and while I was away I completed 'Never What it Seems'. All I can say is SUPERB, EXCELLENT, and OUTSTANDING! That book was one of the best books I've ever read and I'm encouraging everyone I know to get a copy. Let me tell you, it had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. This is definitely a book for everyone, so check it out!!! That being said, I have got to get a copy of 'Autumn Leaves', if it is anything like 'Never What it Seems.'" - Ana Mar'e (Pink Diamond, Inc.)

"I think this book is phenomenal. It takes us into the lives of two young women that basically go through what all women experience growing up in this day and age from childhood to adulthood. It also points out that not all men are deceiving, but willing to take chances when it comes to true love. It was wonderfully written, and I look forward to the next novel witten by Diane Martin. " - Marjorie Billenger

"Diane Martin's vividly, entertaining tale of friendship between two women was a true testimony of trial and triumph. An anthem for every woman who has ever loved, lost, and regained the true meaning of an unedifying spirit of hope. For every page read, I was drawn deeper and deeper until I was left wanting more." - Elise Burkes

"Girl, let me tell you! I finished reading your book earlier today and it was excellent! Your book was a trip. Let me just say that the ending was not what I expected. I was out done! Your novel [Never What it Seems] was a well written and a very intriguing piece or work [written] by a vivid and creative mind! Congratulations and much success on all of your endeavors to come!" - Michelle Moorer (Author of Shhh...Don't Tell)

"I purchased your book and once I completed it…WOW! This was a great book and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. I passed the book on to my daughter-in-law and she thought the same thing. Keep up the good work. I’ll be looking for more to come.” -Beverly Price

We the People: Forming a More Perfect Union (America's Racial Divide)

This is a book that the opposition party does not want you to read!!!!!!!!

Overview

What a great day it was for America when she looked beyond color & chose a man of integrity, character, a spirit of inclusion, & the heart of a servant to be the 44th U.S. President. A working class citizen who rose from humble beginnings, and believes that a "perfect union" allows all people of color, class, & socioeconomic backgrounds to have access to America's opportunities and riches. All these things which make him loved among working class Americans are the same reasons that he is despised among selfish men within a secret society of billionaires who have sworn allegiance to destroy both the President and his agenda with the American people being viewed as collateral damage.

However, this proposition has the potential to alienate them with the American people, who are in need of financial relief and could turn on this covert society of politicians and businessmen at a moment’s notice and vote them out of their powerful seats, if they learn the truth of how we arrived in this financial predicament.

Therefore, they must devise a plan that will divert attention from the truth about America. In the midst of $18 billion dollars in CEO bonuses, $70 billion dollars in corporate bank bail-outs, undetected white collar crime, record breaking lay-offs, outsourcing of american jobs, the defunding of job retraining programs, unemployment, record foreclosures, abject poverty and political amnesia, the members of this secret society remain filthy rich!

Many American's are asking, "How is this possible"? “How did America get in this economic mess”? “What happened to my job”? "Am I being deceived"? "Who do I believe"? "Can I trust the political polling"? "Why is America experiencing such a racial divide"? "Why am I suffering financially, while 1% of our society maintains their wealth"? "Why do some black leaders hate the President & seek to undermine him"? "Why is my Pastor telling me to stay home from the polls"? "Why are single issues dividing America"?

Criminology Professor Clifford Sanders exposes the secret society and how they have controlled politics, America's beliefs, voting patterns and the economic system for decades.

Every voter who is concerned about this election owes it to themselves to discover how they are being deceived, lied to, manipulated and rendered invisible by some of the least likely candidates and leaders in this country. Read this timely piece before it's too late and before you vote in any election!

Greetings All,

For the past four or five years I have been expressing myself, as an Artist, through writing articles and letters to the editor.

I have recently self-published, I am published with i AuthorHouse an on-line publishing business.

  Book Title

 Picture This...

a literary collection of articles written about the social conditions in the US Virgin Islands with a universal perspective.

Picture This... is not the kind of book that the reader will sit and read cover to cover.

The book is arranged by subject matter which will cause the reader to have to take time to reflect on the message in each one of the articles.

Now those responsible and guilty for all of the negative conditions and hardships caused by their self-serving, fraudulent, mismanaging, thieving, and wasteful deeds are like Vampires with No Reflections.

 http://bookstore.authorhouse.com/Products/SKU-000586784/Picture-Thi...

Since the majority of the articles that are in the book anyone can read what I have written on-line, so for most there is no need for a book, then others will prefer to have it in book form.

It is a big world out there, and I believe that the Virgin Islands will be a hot topic in the near future.

For me as an Artist this book represents closure, I have nothing more I want to spend time saying.

I remember asking one of my art professors, a sculptor/ceramist, what was his best work of Art? He responded by saying that his teacher told him that his teacher told him that it was his next one.

I decided instead of investing in the stock market, I am investing in myself. So with your help in spreading the word, I will also be able to invest in others.

I believe-in and live by the ripple effects of sharing with those around me not the trickle-down effect of letting others bare the bulk of sacrifice.

Thank you in advance,

 Ivan
