Second Grandchild

Hello everyone,

My last post announced my first grandchild, a boy. He is absolutely awesome and a joy to have. Today I am announcing the arrival of my first granddaughter. She is so beautiful. I am so grateful for my grandchildren and a legacy that I could not wait to share. I know I've been inactive for a while, but trust me when I say, it was well worth the absense. Blessings to you all.

Justice Department Fails To Act In Shooting of Black Children by Alleged North Carolina Racist

By Scotty Reid

In the Fall of 2009 in Caswell County, North Carolina, two African American elementary school aged children were walking down a road with another child when they were allegedly fired upon with a shotgun by John Fugua, a white male who neighbors say yelled racial slurs at the children.…

Funding Our Children's Future

Funding Our Children’s Future

For several years now, I have been greatly disturbed by the apparent economic stagnation that continues to inflict our communities.  The economic indicators of unemployment, homelessness, illiteracy, etc. are all staggering as they relate to African Americans compared to other races and ethnic groups.

Education is touted as the propulsion to success.  Yet, hundreds of African American men and women graduate each year with college degrees…

Why is it so much easier to be wrong than it is to be right?

I was having a conversation the other day about people in general with a friend and I told her that I think there are quite a few genuine and just all around good people out here. But then you have those that have no problem doing the wrong thing all the time at the drop of a dime once confronted you end up being the one with the problem. I do not understand why the wrong doers think it is okay for the person thats right to keep sacrificing their happiness just so they can keep a smile on their… Continue

Black History Month: The African American Civil War

Quantcast

art_mlk_dream Who decides what is and what is not Black History? Who has given us our guidance on what to celebrate and who deserves to be celebrated? It seems to me that pages have been ripped from the volumes of Black History that are of significant relevance. Many African Americans and the rest of America continue to ignore, mismanage and misunderstand their history. In doing so they deprive future generations.…

Social Conservatism: The Great American Oxymoron

Can you be a Social Conservative, actually understand and believe in the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights? It’s not imaginable nor is it practically realistic from my vantage point. Social Conservatism by definition addresses social behavior as encouraged or dictated by the people and the government. This is absolutely and completely contrary to what America’s founding ideals require of us. Social Conservatism in America is an…

Wisconsin's Governor Walker: Mubarak of the Midwest

reagan light bulb In spite of what the nation may be repeatedly told by revisionist historians, former president Ronald Reagan was not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. In fact, some (like me) would characterize him as a terrible president! In truth, I remember him to be somewhat of a dunce. The greatest difference between Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin and Ronald Reagan is that Governor Walker is both a bully and a dunce! Governor Walker is fixated on…
