Coming to the DC on tour in October
The time has come to take the sport of Bid Whist to the next level. “Put some shirts on the cards Girl!, Mis Deal, 6 No Uptown, Rise & Fly…Bye-Bye, I said 7!, Set Card!, YES… We are going to BOSTON tonight!” the player who turns on the nonstop stream of boasts and insults gets the job done in the game of BID WHIST. It's a very dramatic game says Christina Washington-Koger, founder of the Raleigh Card Sharks Bid Whist, Spades & Pinochle Club and bid whist fanatic. Making a “BOSTON” (winning all of the tricks) is the ultimate highlight of the game.”
Come join us during the “BID WHIST ACROSS AMERICA – NC TOURNAMENT WEEKEND”, at the Cambria Suites-RDU Hotel in Morrisville, NC from Friday, August 28th – Saturday, August 29th, 2009. Players from across the States of America (NY/NJ, ATL, DC/Baltimore, LA, Vegas, Miami, Orlando, Detroit, Pittsburg, Cleveland, New Orleans) and the Caribbean will travel to the State of North Carolina to meet, greet and compete in Four (4) Tournaments in Two (2) Days tournament fee is $150 per player. The weekend ends on Sunday, August 30th with a Sunday Summer BBQ with Bid Whist & Spades games in Anderson Point Park, from 12Noon to 7PM, in Raleigh, NC, tickets are $10 Adults and $5 children under 10 years.
People swear by poker, lust for bridge, but according to plenty of card sharks the game called BID WHIST is about the most fun, most challenging card game ever invented. Do you know the rich history and tradition of the game? Train porters back in the 30’s while watching passengers on the railroad coaches playing Bridge, improvised and customized the game to what we call Bid Whist today. From the train coaches to mom’s kitchen table, where bragging rights and being crowned the best trash talker was the grandest of achievements, the popular card game gained steam and Bid Whist Clubs formed throughout the country. During the late 1990’s, the vision of the late Dennis J. Barmore, created the “Bid Whist Across America Tour” with competitive play and cash prizes.
