The Silent Whore
“Mr. anonymous, I know you’re still out there,” She spoke with a shaky voice. “I promise not to say a word. It was never my plan to call your wife; you just pissed me off with your belittling comment. We’ll laugh about this tomorrow,” She pleaded. Warryn hadn’t spoken another word. “Do you mind if I tell you a few jokes that I heard today?” She continued in agony. “Okay here they go. I hope that you find them funny,” She paused again. She didn’t like all of the silence. She wondered what he was thinking now. Could he have left the premises to get duct tape and rope to hush her? “All right, I’m ready when you are,” She piped. “If they aren’t funny don’t blame me. I heard them from a friend earlier,” She rambled on. “Your mama is so dumb that she thought a quarterback was a refund,” Suprema told the first joke and burst into laughter. “Your mama is so ugly that when she looks into the mirror, it ducks. Those sandals you are wearing are so old that they were in style when Jesus was born,” She laughed. She seemed to be the only one finding the humor in her condo. “Say something will you,” Suprema yelped. “I have been cooped up in this bathroom for thirty minutes already,” Suprema protested. She felt wetness on her buttocks and reached back to see its source. She saw the reddish substance slowly rolling from the hall into her bathroom. It couldn’t be blood, she pondered. Where would blood be coming from? She marveled. “Mr. anonymous what have you done?” She cried out, snatching the door open.
