Remember, KEEP YOUR CHILDREN LEARNING all year!  Especially during the Summer months when many of our children forget the skills and concepts they learned throughout the school year.  Visit your State's Department of Education website and get tips on getting your child a head start to prepare him/her for the next grade level.  For instance, if your child is entering the 3rd grade, help him/her learn multiplication facts.  Most schools aren't doing drills anymore, so do them now.  Focus on two facts a week.  Here's a portaportal I created with lots of educational links to help your child strengthen his/her skills.  Have fun! http://guest.portaportal.com/drricks

Give yourself and young people around you an inspirational gift contained with wisdom from a young brother who has survived the streets and has worked in corporate America and currently teaches, mentors and tutors inner city and suburban students.

The 2011 Nashville International Book Festival comes
to RiverGate Mall, June 3 - 5, 2011. Throughout the mall will be local
television, government and sports personalities reading for 30 minutes to a
group of children or students. Authors will also sell and sign their books and
novels and there will be several no cost literary workshops, classes and panel
discussions open to the general public. We will identify 50 Nashville area
schools whose students may have financial challenges. Also, we will through our
subsidiary R2Books, donate 20 gift certificates to each school, these can then
be brought to our event and redeemed for a new book. We welcome other
corporations to match our gift and help us give 10,000 books annually to
deserving students across the United States. For more information contact: www.NashvilleInternationalBookFestival.info,
Takaya or Michael at 313.446.2262.

The Celebrity ROL brings local persons of notable stature together for a great cause... To READ to students and teach them that reading is the key that unlocks the door to wonderment. Join our first "READ OUT LOUD" at Richmond Town Square in May 13th - 15th. Thirty civic leaders, business persons, radio, sports and TV personalities will read to eager students.

Join Mayor Daniel J. Ursu, Councilmember Phyllis Cleveland, Reporters Joy Redmond and Pete Kenworthy and Chief Magistrate Gregory F. Clifford plus others for this exciting and fun filled weekend.

We are linked by a common cause and bound by a common duty…fatherhood. There is no greater cause for which a man should sacrifice himself for; and there is no greater duty that a man will ever perform than that of fatherhood. I would like to welcome you to the network of fatherhood!
