Thank God for this group, because we as Fathers don't get the love we deserve from the women or the kids we love sometime.

I've been sittin' back and listening to the brothas (and ladies. . .thank yo for being appreciative), and I feel right at home. I have an 18 month old that is the joy of my life. This little girl has a smile that makes the sun shine. Not saying that it's right, but my NOW wife became pregnant during our courtship, and we got married. And let me say, that I have had the most wonderful time that I have had with any woman.

My only thing is that my wife sometimes negative towards me to other folks and never seems to acknowledge any of the positive things I do. Don't get me wrong; she looks out for me and takes care of me when I need it, but that smart mouth of hers gets on my nerves. LOL. But other than that, I love being a dad. I love being able to teach my daughter new words.

My dad and mom have been married over 40 years, and I hope do follow suit. This is my second marriage--the first being a horrendous experience. But my daughter. . .my daughter. . .my daughter. . . the world, at times to me, sets on her back. The bad thing is that I won't leave town or go out anymore (which I did very little of in the first place). I just enjoy being at home with my little girl and and the rest of the family

To all my brothas,

Infinite love to all of you, you know when I was growing up I often heard the older girls around me talk( i was sneekin), and one of the comments that stood out to me most was " Why should he get props for being a father and handling his business. Does he want a doggie biscuit or something, He is supposed to do that"....But thank God I was able to use my own brain and realize that yes that is what they are supposed to be doing, but Men/ Fathers need love too. Yes women have a tough time in this society....Oh LORD but My brothers, my brothers you endure the undiscribable and for that I love you. If we as a people understand the come up of Black men in this country, ( forget about the middle passage for a moment) just in this country alone....My Brothers/ Fathers/Uncles/Grandfathers....Thank You for the efforts and endurance of walking through this maze called life that was designed solely for your destruction. You have a walk that doesn't compare to any other, but you do it and you make it happen and for that...no words can give the amount of love earned. Each of you have a piece of my heart...always and forever....PEACE and LOVE!!!!

Funny, I may be the only woman on this site and that's quite alright with me. When I saw the group I got excited because FINALLY there yall are. I know that it is not easy raising children and it doesn't help when u have an unappreciative baby's mama in the background causing you grief but you do it! I applaud you all, I have much respect for each of you and I pray that God continues to strenghten you.

I grew up with my biological father being less than 10 miles away, instead of spending time with him, I spent time with his parents and siblings, which was fine with me. What wasn't fine with me was that he had another family less than 10 miles away and to me, I didn't exist to them neither them to me. Today, I have occasional contact with my father, my sister and I are pretty close and she of course loves him to death, I think about how differently we view him. I will stop traffic for my step father, the man that loved and cared for me like I was his own whereas for my natural father...let's just say that I wish him luck ducking and dodging the cars. I don't resent him however I don't have that realtionship with him. So again I say, I applaud each of you for making lasting impressions on your children...your love is what will fuel them when life gets hard.

Many Blessings!!

Hello, I would like to say thank you to all the Men who take active roles in their children's lives. They need you they love you and they miss ever moment that you aren't there. I grew up with out my dad in the household and it was hard for me to deal with. I loved my Dad more than air. Dad(s) hold a very powerfull position. Dads show yu how to love how to grow and how to survive. I'm a single mother with three kids who I work very hard to take care of on my own. It's hard for us and hard for you children when your absent. We love you even if we have to part lets parent together. MUCH LOVE FATHERS! And THANK YOU!

Glad to join this group!! Finally, a place where men can talk about how they love doing we do. . .and that's taking care of families. . .even if our wives, girlfriends, and mothers of our children don't let on like we do.
