WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PSYCHIC & A PROPHET

A friend and i were having a discussion about the occult when she ask me, "what's the difference between a psychic & a prophet?" .... They both claim to foretell or foreknow information concerning the future ........ l told her, the difference between the two is the SOURCE  from which they recieve their information, a prophet knows information as it has been revealed to him/her by God, whereas a psychic's source of information is revealed throught a "familar spirit"  ....
In times of such uncertainty we all want to know what will be the outcome of our future, we, in our human nature want to know the details of our lives ..... the who, when, where & what of our existance/future, so it can be tempting & easy for one to get caught up and not realize they're opening Pandora's Box & dancing with the devil.

"What are familiar spirits?"

The word familiar is from the Latin familiaris, meaning a "household servant," and is intended to express the idea that sorcerers had spirits as their servants ready to obey their commands. Those attempting to contact the dead, even to this day, usually have some sort of spirit guide who communicates with them. These are familiar spirits.

Leviticus 19:31; 20:6, 27; and Deuteronomy 18:9-14 refer to “mediums and familiar spirits” and forbids being involved with them, as they are an abomination to the Lord. The medium was one who acted as a “go-between” to supposedly contact or communicate with the dead, but in reality they were contacting demons who convinced the mediums that they were “familiar” and could be trusted and believed.

 

A psychic (play /ˈsaɪkɪk/; from the Greek ψυχικός psychikos—"of the mind, mental", also called sensitive[1]) is a person who professes an ability to perceive information hidden from the normal senses through extrasensory perception (ESP), or is said by others to have such abilities.

 

 

In religion, a prophet, from the Greek word προφήτης profitis meaning "foreteller", is an individual who is claimed to have been contacted by the supernatural or the divine, and serves as an intermediary with humanity, delivering this newfound knowledge from the supernatural entity to other people.[1][2] The message that the prophet conveys is called a prophecy.

They Look alike They both make the Comb, But only one makes  "Honey", Just like a Psychic and a Prophet, one is from God, and the other is not. an  Example is recorded in Acts CH 8 v9-25.

l also believe in the Holy Trinity ..... that God is a "Triune Deity" ....  God(The Father)   Jesus(The Son, The Christ, The Messiah, The Redeemer) & The Holy Spirit(The Helper, The Teacher, The Instructor) are all "One"  .... Luke 3:21, 22 ...

the Father, Son, and Spirit ..... are three distinct Persons, but are all One in substance.

Agreed, God is  the "Triune Diety" ......

Did Jesus, Himself,  not say, "I and My Father are One" {John 10:30} .... & when i go (His ascension back to the Father) i will not leave you helpless, confortless or abandon you as ophans, I will send to you a "Helper" Who will teach and instruct you in all things of Me and My Father" {John 14:16 -18,  & 16:5 - 15}

Now back to the regularly scheduled program  lol .........  i don't wanna debate the trinty or whether or not prophets still exist or are used today  ..... but  "who can tell me the difference between a psychic & a prophet??"  ....... beyond what i've already said(posted) ?????? ........ That's the question! ...........
